Roots DS Problem

Is n>6?
1) root n >2.5
2) n> root 37

Answer - each statement is sufficient

I chose answer A, because I thought that in statement 2, n can either be negative or positive, therefore we cannot determine if n>6. In statement 1, we can easily determine that n > 6. Any help understanding why both statements are sufficient would be great.

"√" refers to positive values only.

A symbol can't mean two different things. If it did, it would be meaningless and useless.

As an example, let's say I were to ask you, "How long is the diagonal of a 1-by-1 square?"
You'd answer, "√2."
This answer is only possible because "√2" strictly means the positive square root of 2. If it could mean either positive or negative, then it would be impossible to write the answer to this question!

That's the point. Symbols only mean one thing.
