Risks of Re-taking the GMAT

by hub.orr Wed Aug 24, 2011 9:19 pm

I have taken the GMAT once and am satisfied but not thrilled with my score. If I re-take the GMAT and do worse the second time, will schools view this unfavorably? Are you only as good as your most recent GMAT, so to speak? Also, if I elect not to report the second GMAT score to any schools, will they know that I took the test twice?

Thanks.

Hi Hub,

Most schools will only look at your highest score, regardless of recency. I do believe you are correct in saying that schools will only know the scores that are reported to them, but am not 100% positive on that. You may want to check with GMAT directly on that.

Best of luck,
