Reschedule Exam

by nish.hansoti Sat Jan 19, 2013 11:20 pm

Hi,

My exam date is scheduled for next saturday January 26th, but I would like to push it back a few weeks as I feel a but unprepared. Today is the last day to reschedule as their policy states - rescheduling must occur 7 or more days prior to the exam date. I had been monitoring the calendar in hopes that a weekend day would open up in February, but planned on just settling on any day if nothing freed up. Unfortunately, the site has been down for ~5 hours for maintenance and I can't access the page to reschedule. I am not sure if I will be able to reschedule in time as I only have 2 hours and 40 minutes till midnight. What can I do about this?

Thank you for your help.

Unfortunately, I have no idea. I don't work for the company that gives the exam.

If I were you, though, and you were unable to get back in before midnight, then I would call the company to complain and ask them to allow me to reschedule while still paying only the $50 fee. If you can document that the site was down (screen shots, or at least a list of dates and times), that would be helpful. You'd have to be able to convince them that it really was their site and not just your internet connection or something like that. (Though hopefully, if their site really was down, they should be able to confirm with their tech folks.)

In future, call them immediately and directly - this isn't anything that we or anyone else unaffiliated with them can do. If they're not open (which is likely, since it sounds like this was occuring after business hours), at least see whether you can leave a message. Also look on the website and send an email. If you can show that you tried to contact them via multiple avenues while the problem was ongoing, that will again help you make your case later on.

I still don't know whether that will convince them to give you a break on the reschedule fee... but it can't hurt to ask!
