Hi Anushka,

Thanks for writing in. I'd be curious to know how balanced your GMAT score is, as a 720 is certainly a good score for top-15 schools but you would want to be able to show equal weighting between Quant and Verbal (preferably 80%+ on both). While you certainly will be competing against a lot of candidates with similar profiles, I think your path toward brand management could be a good differentiator for you. Thus your essays should clearly explain what your current experience is, why you want to pursue brand management, and how your current skills + MBA skills will make you a successful brand manager.

With the cursory information I have, I think you could be competitive at Cornell, which tends to send a lot people into brand management, and perhaps Michigan as a slightly more aggressive target school.

Hope this is helpful and best of luck!

Hi again,

That's a great breakdown with a high verbal percentage. I think Kellogg will be a reach, but a good reach for you since it's a strong marketing school and you're looking to get into brand management. I would perhaps reach for Kellogg and Tuck, unless you have a specific reason for Sloan that would make you a good fit there.

I think the non-US schools would be in range for you -- with LBS and INSEAD being on the higher end. I'm not that familiar with the specifics at Judge/Said so I don't want to speculate beyond seeing that your academic credentials are in line for those schools.

Again, I would make sure to explain your career path in a way that shows forethought and logical flow.

Best of luck!
