Record on Undergraduate Transcript

I plan on applying this fall for fall 2009 admission. I feel that I am pretty strong in all catergories, but there is one thing that concerns me - my undergraduate transcript. I received an F in an elective course my senior year - not due to poor performance, but for not correctly citing all my sources on my final paper. With that said, I still graduated with a 3.6/4.0. I'm wondering how noticeable this will be to an adcom, and if you think I should call attention to it but discussing it in the "optional essay" portion of the application? Thanks!

Thank you for your inquiry. If your story is quite strong, one bad grade won’t sink the ship. If you leave it unaddressed, then the AdCom will likely wonder about the problem. Instead, you should explain why this occurred in a very concise manner.
