Hello,
I am person who is applying for MBA admissions for fall of 2013. I am currently struggling with the GMAT especially the quantitative portion. My first time taking the test I scored a 510, and this was after being in a GMAT prep course. I plan to retake the test, but after taking 8 practice exams and extensive study I have not been able to crack 600 and my projected score will probably be about 550 the next time I take the test.
I have never been a good standardized test taker. In high school I struggled a lot with the SAT even after private tutoring and extensive study. My undergraduate GPA is decent - 3.6, but I majored in a humanity so I need a way to address my low GMAT and my little experience with quantitative courses. I am a disciplined student that could do well in a class with a set curriculum so my question is: What sort of quant courses can I pro-actively take from my local college extension course that might help boost my quantitative profile for admissions? Should I take accounting? Stats? Calculus? Since I don't plan to apply for MBA till the end of 2012 I have time on my side to enroll in a few courses and I'm trying to figure out which ones would be most helpful for admissions in the meantime.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you.
