In the ManhattanPrep SC book, there is a problem Chapter 4, NO.3
Angola, which was ravaged by civil war for many year after it regained independence from Portugal, which is now one of African's success stories, has an economy that grew by 21% last year, where parliamentary elections are to be held later this week.
Official Correction:
Ravaged by civil war for many years after it regained independence from Portugal, Angola is now one of the African's success stories: its economy grew by 21% last year, and parliamentary elections are to be held later this week.
My version,
Ravaged by civil ward for many years after it regained independence from Portugal, Angola, where parliamentary elections to be held later this week, is now on of the African's success stories, and has a economy that grew 21% last year.
I assume that in order to highlight the fact that Angola regained the independence, the focus are the success story and booming economy; one less significant event is parliamentary election, which inserted as a "where" clause.
