Hello Dmitriy,

I do not think that working for an economic litigation firm will be negative. It is not clear how long you have been out of college, but you have not mentioned any activities that you have participated in since college. Unless you graduated one or two years ago, I would discourage you from focusing on college activities in your business school essays.

If that was not an omission, I would encourage you to consider getting involved with activities outside of work (or studying for the CFA exam) in which you can have an impact, as you prepare to apply to business school. It is difficult to assess your chances of gaining admission to the ten schools you have listed without an actual GMAT score (people often score very differently on the real test) and without a better understanding of your leadership and achievement at work and outside of work, since college. You still have lots of time to work on the GMAT and "extracurriculars" in the next year or two.

Sincerely,

Akiba Smith-Francis

I do think that, in general, having at least some full-time work experience will help strengthen your application in that it provides the opportunity to show leadership and achievement in a professional context. It may also help you refine your career goals and make a stronger case for why you want to go to business school. Of course, if you establish a non-profit, that experience will also give you a chance to show leadership and demonstrate an interest in serving others. Best of luck,

Sincerely,
