Profile Evaluation

by a14021 Fri Sep 13, 2013 9:18 am

Hi,

I recently got my GMAT score report (710 /92%, V37 /82%, Q49 /81%, AWA 4.0 /21%, IR 4 /37%). I am based out of India and have over 10 years of work experience: worked for a French and US multinational.

I am interested to apply to the top B-schools (Harvard, Insead, LBS) and wanted to get your perspective if my profile would be applicable.

Thank you,
Ashish

Hi Ashish,

Well it's hard to give much feedback knowing only your GMAT and very brief synopsis of your work experience... there are lots of factors that go into b-school admissions, and admissions officers truly look at your whole application holistically and make a decision. A 710 is within range, certainly. So that means they will look more at your work experience and essays and reasons WHY you want the MBA, and will wonder what YOU will bring to the class vs someone else applying,

With 10 years of experience, you are potentially getting to the TOO experienced point though... have you looked at EMBAs at all? You'd need to really justify why you still need the MBA for a FT program and why now, etc.
