Hi,

Thanks for your information. With your current GMAT score, a top 15 school is going to be a reach. Is it possible to retake the GMAT and improve your score? Even if you could improve by 20+ points, I think it would greatly improve your chances.

Outside of your GMAT, I think the rest of your profile is interesting. HR experience is rare in business school, so you would have a lot to lend in the classroom. Have you been consistently promoted within your organization? Do you feel you have strong leadership and team experience from work? It's great that you're involved in diversity initiatives at work - this will show dedication to the firm and leadership as well.

Extracurricular wise, the fundraising for the park is good. Your leadership activity seems to be relegated to college/grad school, though, so I'd urge you to take this year to get involved in a leadership capacity in a community organization and in additional extracurricular activities.

All in all, I'd still say that a top 15 is going to be a reach. Also note that at the time of matriculation, you'll be 31 years old, which is slightly older for business school. Should not be a big issue, but just something to be aware of.

Another thing to keep in mind: why do you need an MBA to achieve your career goal? You are already in an HR role -- making a switch to human capital/change management consulting seems like something you could do without an MBA. Make sure you have a strong case for why you need the degree/skills to reach your goal. They'll wonder about this.

Good luck,
Mili
