I am looking to apply to the top 25 b-schools and want to see what my chances are. Also, specifically, I am looking at ISB, INSEAD, NUS, NTU and SP Jain. Plus there's the strategy of applying to 3 dream b-schools, 4 moderate and 3 safe bets.. would you be able to give me some options? My main concern is considering the costs involved, I don't want to take a shot in the dark when I have no chance of getting a call. Looking forward to your reply. Thanks!

HI md.divya,

Thanks for writing in and sharing those details. I think top-25 is about right for the profile you've put down here -- I'm a bit concerned about your categorization into the IT category, as it seems that your work is very software-heavy, but you do have some achievements at work that you can point to. You'll also need to spend some time on your goal statement -- what comes next for you after MBA, and why?

I would need to know a bit more about your goals before commenting on specific schools. Also my knowledge of the specifics of some of the programs you mentioned are limited. Instead look at a few different sites (Business Week, Financial Times, etc) to see where your experience and scores match well within their top-25. You can follow that up with calls to the career services offices of those programs and web research to help develop your list of targets.

Best of luck,

Daniel Richards
