Profile evaluation

by bhuvanaveeran Thu Oct 06, 2011 2:56 pm

Hi,
I took GMAT yesterday and scored 680(49Q, 32V).
My practice scores increased consistently from 640 to 720. My profile is as below

B.Tech Graduate , 31 years old with 10+ years of total experience.
Worked as a Production engineer and line manager in a production concern for 4.5yrs
Working with an IT Company as a SAP consultant for last 5.5 yrs
Working in the USA at present and I have close to 3 years of international work experience
Managerial experience - leading a team of 15 members at the current project

I am interested in executive MBA programs and interested in ISB, XLRI executive program, INSEAD, ESADE. What do you think my chances of getting into one of these schools with the present score? Do you suggest to go for another attempt with GMAT? Analytical skill is my strength and verbal is my weakness which is reflected in my score....please let me know your thoughts.

Thanks for your help,
Bhuvaneswari

HI Bhuvaneswari,

Thanks for writing in. Usually with EMBA programs the GMAT score is a bit less relevant and the focus should be on the work experience. Given that you have 10+ years, you should have enough work experience to write comprehensive essays. I do not think a retake of the GMAT is required.

Best of luck,

Daniel Richards
