Profile Evaluation

Hi,

Following is my background:
GMAT - 700 (Q 49, V 36, AWA 5)

Grads - Engineering - Comp Science, Punjab Engineering College
(Top 25 India) -- Indian/IT/Male(24yrs)
CGPA - 6.77/10

Work Ex - 2 years full-time by June 2012 (presently - 15 months - working in a top Indian IT firm)

Extracurricular -
1. Won many dance competitions as part of college dance team.
2. Has been a part of many rock bands (have played in majority of famous Indian rock festivals -- one of my band also got featured on channel V and in rolling stones magazine ).

Leadership positions held:
1. Captain in junior-high school
2. Organized various rock events in college
3. Managed 2 rock bands
4. Currently manage an account level activity (account having more than 1000 employees across various locations) for the entire project.This is an additional responsibility apart from my daily s/w engg. job.

Community work -- Nothing substantial
1. Was part of NCC (National Cadet Corps, India) for a short while in junior-high .
2. Was part of AISEC (largest youth-run organization in the world) for a short while.

Post MBA Goals - Work in corporate (finance/consultancy) for 10-15 years, build a formidable profile, have a global reputation and then finally join planning commission of Indian Government.

Would you please evaluate my profile: I am inclined towards the following colleges:

Hi Raschint,

Thanks for writing in. Beyond your typical academics and work experience you have some extracurriculars and honors that should definitely provide great fodder for essays. Make sure to leverage that material in each application to differentiate yourself from the pack. While Columbia may be a reach school, the others represent a nice mix of schools where you should be competitive.
