Profile Evaluation

by gagankhangura Mon Sep 12, 2011 9:55 am

I gave my GMAT this month on 8th of September and I have scored 760(50,44). I will complete 2yrs of my workex in IT industry this december and I have worked in two projects. I have average academics and ECs. Now considering that I belong to the huge pool of Indian IT professionals who are aspiring to do MBA and that I have average academics, which all colleges should I be targeting?

I am interested in doing an MBA from US or from any European country.
Thanks in advance.

Hi there,

Thanks for writing in and congratulations on a great GMAT score. As you recognize, you are part of a cohort that is heavily represented and has high GMAT scores by reputation. Given your average academics, lack of ECs and minimal work experience I would suggest looking in the top-20 range. To stick out from the crowd, focus your time on differentiation through your career goals and by doing the extra layer of research on your target schools to make a really compelling case why it's a good match for you. You could also pick a top-10 school as a reach, given your high score it's worth a shot.

Best of luck,

Daniel Richards
