Initially started my career supporting business intelligence applications. Last year, I was developing framework for business intelligence products. Currently working in evaluating mobile business analytics apps. I planning to focus on Mobile & Social Media usage for the next few months.

I do realize that I belong to the "Indian IT Pool". Based on my profile will I be classified as typical? I do play a fair amount of sports, should I specialize in them before I need to apply (represent at a certain level) ?

Hi there,

Thanks for your post. The Indian IT label can be a tough one to break but it does seem like you have some options. First, your 760 GMAT is going to float you to the top academically. Then your international and language experience is a good differentiator as well as your experience in public speaking. Finally your career trajectory so far seems like it has taken you from traditional IT into more front-end development and maybe even marketing. If you can describe that clearly in your essays, then you can help make your case that the IT label is inappropriate for you.

It's unlikely that specializing in a sport will have a real impact on your application.
