Profile Evaluation

Hi

Kindly evaluate my profile.

Academics:
- B.Tech + M.Tech, Mechanical Engg, IIT Bombay,India (GPA - 3.4)
- GMAT 760 (Quant-51, Verbal-40)

Work Exp:
- Co-founded a startup in 2008, right out of college, and have sucessfully raised 2 rounds of funding (Angel and VC) in the past 3 yrs.

Extra Curricular:
- Was among the top 20 national Tennis players in U-18 category and continued to excel in sports in college
- Held college posts in areas of mentorship, festivals and administartion
- Trekking enthusiast and have completed many national treks

- No international work exp
- No corporate (MNC) exposure, since have been working in a startup (not more than 10 employees)

I plan to explore other areas (PE/Consulting) since my company is performing well and my co-founder can run it.
Planning to apply to top universities in US, along with INSEAD & LBS.

Hi vaibhavgoel85,

Thanks for writing in and congratulations on an excellent GMAT score. Given your strong academics and unique work experience, I think you can be in the competitive mix at any school. The key for you will be to write really strong essays that explore what you accomplished in the startup world and how that experience will help you succeed with your post-MBA goals. I advise you not to take this part lightly, as you have the resume on paper to be competitive anywhere, but you need to spell out the case as to why you would be a good match for these very competitive schools.
