profile evaluation

Hi

i am 32/female, ECE(68.5%) from premier Indian engineering institute.
my GMAT score 690 (88%) Q47(78%) V38(83%) AWA 5.0
work ex 3yrs banking(assistant manager)(one of the top4 banks of India),
2.5 yrs insurance broking(manager, back end operations)(start up)
at present working from home as freelance tutor to graduation level students on range of subjects from business case studies on financial,strategic aspects to organisational behavior, social sciences subjects.
Which 1 year MBA programs should i apply for and can hope to get admit with above given statistics.
MY worry is that i have had breaks in my career . second thing m worried about is lack of direction (career) as apparent in my resume(from engineering degree to banking to insurance to freelance tutor.

Hi Mani,

Thanks for writing in. Since I only have limited information on your background and goals, I can't comment on specific programs that might be a good fit - especially when it comes to 1-year programs since the range of options there is a bit a different.

While you're right to point out that schools may question your indirect career path to date, you can address this in your essays. If you can show why each career step made sense, and why an MBA is the next step in this pattern, you can show schools why you would be a good candidate.
