Profile Evaluation

by catch_rajeeb Wed Nov 10, 2010 4:57 am

Hello there, please evaluate my profile and feel free to make any comments.
Applying for PhD in Finance (Corporate Finance preferred) for 2011 Fall.
Gmat score- 710(48Q-82%; 38V-83%), 92% overall
GPA- Going to complete MBA from India Campus of an AACSB accredited University in USA. 4/4 GPA in the 12 courses completed so far, 7 courses are left, will be over by March 2011.
Undergraduate degree- Bachelor degree from an Indian University, have 80% in aggregate, I should fall in top 10%.
LOR- FYI- my professors are from the American University to which my college is affiliated. They come to India and complete courses- ie. modular basis. And they are very positive about me applying to USA so good LORs can be expected, if not excellent.
Other parts of application- I hope personal essays will be good enough, though not excellent. Have good background in Maths.
Drawback- I do not have any work/research experience.
Criteria for choosing college- nothing much, should be good and offer full financial support.
So based on my profile, what kind of colleges should I look for? Top 25 or 50 or 100?
How is this tentative list?
ASU, U of Maryland, Olin, Tippie, Texas A&Mu, Pittsburg, U of Florida.

Hi catch_rajeeb,

Unfortunately my expertise is only in MBA admissions, not PhD. It looks like your scores and academic credentials are solid, but I just don't know much about the programs you list to comment.

Sorry I can't be of more help, but I wish you the best of luck!
