Please evaluate my profile.

Female / Age: 37 /Russian

Undergraduate degree from good Russian University in Management
GPA: 3.9
Work Experience: 12 years in Banking sphere; currently working as a deputy chief of the department at the top Russian bank
Extracurricular activity:chairman of Parents-Teachers Association of my daughter's school, tax consultant for comunity (volunteer)

What do you think, do I have any chances for full-mba programs, or I am too old and incompetitive for the above programs?

Hi martelena,

Thanks for writing in. Your academics seem strong and should be competitive at the schools you list.

You are correct, however, in identifying age as a potential hurdle you will have to overcome. In order to address this, you will want to explain in your essays why now is the right time for you to get an MBA to achieve your goals, and perhaps why you did not pursue this path earlier in your career.

Additionally, you may want to look at higher-ranked part-time programs or executive programs, which may be a bit more open to an older candidate.

Best of luck,

Daniel Richards
