Profile Evaluation Request

I am a 24 year old white female, but will be 25 when I start applying for MBA Programs. My college GPA was 3.5 with a degree in finance and international business. My work experience would be 3 years once the application process is completed. I graduated from a 15 month finance analytical and client facing rotational program at a top mutual fund company. I know work in their Consultant Relations department as an analyst. I would really like to go to a top 10 school and land a job in consulting.

I'm nervouse that my experience is on the low end and I am studying for the GMAT currently. I am wondering what my chances are with a GMAT score in the high 600s or if breaking 700 is my only chance.

First of all, I would not worry as much about the number of years experience as I would concentrate on the quality of that experience. Your undergraduate marks seem strong as well. Breaking the 700 on the GMAT will be helpful for top programs. A 700 with 80th percentile in Q/V is the benchmark for success.

Further, given that you have one year before applying, I would suggest also making sure that you can present a well-rounded candidacy, i.e. are you involved in the community? extra-curricular activities? You also can take advantage of the time to visit schools, talk to students and alumni and get to know your targeted programs.
