Educational Background : Engineer (12+ 4years)
Degree : BE (Electronics)
GPA :5.8
Age :39

Work Experience: Currently working as Sr. Consultant for Deloitte Consulting one of top five consulting firm in world. Overall I have 15 Years of Experience in information technology and led projects in SAP development.

Background
Started my career as program Analyst, then moved up the offshore development lead managing a group of 7 to 8 people in India. I was latter transferred to North America as managing client operations for offshore development in US. Eventaully in 2006 I took as position with Deloitte Consulting and have been with them since then.

My question is assuming, I get a good GMAT score in range (750) and top class consulting experience. Would age be criteria for admission to top B schools? I looking to apply for Standford, Harvard and Wharton school of business.

Hi Checkyou,

Thanks for writing in. Even with the 750 GMAT I do think your age would be a large factor against you. With so much work experience the schools will wonder why you are seeking an MBA now, and why you haven't sought one in the past. This does not mean it will be impossible to gain admissions, but at schools of the caliber you listed, you'll need your story to be air-tight.
