Hi -
First of all, my apologies for the delay in responding (I had some IT difficulties and did not see that there was an unanswered thread.)
Congrats on the exceptional GMAT performance and academic record. Your marks certainly put you in very good standing for admittance into top programs.
However, as you probably know, a high score on the GMAT and strong undergraduate record are not enough to ensure admission. Based on your brief background, it sounds like you also have some interesting, long-lasting community service involvement, which is important. Also, I would guess based on the fact that you were able to make the transition from banking to PE that you will be able to point to leadership, initiative and an upward career trajectory - all important components in the application process. Lastly, your Pakinstani background brings an international aspect to your candidacy in a year where the number of international applicants may be down due to lasting effects of the credit crunch on the student loan market. All in all, seems like you have quite a compelling candidacy for schools like Wharton, CBS, Chicago and even HBS.
It will be up to you to distinguish yourself and your accomplishments in such a way that is unique from other applicants with the banking, private equity background; however, your profile is solid based on the information provided.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Regards,
Erin
