Profile evaluation please....

Hi,

Wondering if I could get an evaluation of my profile:

Undergrad details:
- University of Ottawa Telfer School of Management, graduated 2007
-Finished with a GPA of 8.6/10 (an A average)
-Straight A’s on all analytics-related classes (Statistics I and II, Market Research, Marketing Strategy)
-Top GPA among those with a marketing major
-Won the Marketing Excellence award upon gradation
-Studied abroad for a semester in Amsterdam (The Netherlands) as well

Work details
-Marketing intern for consumer banking at RBC in 2007
-Assistant Marketing Manager at Dell 2008-2010
-Global Marketing Project Coordinator at KPMG in 2010

During my studies and since I started working I have also been an active athlete (running and hockey) and have been an active member of the Toronto spanish language learning community.

I have yet to write the GMAT but to be on the conservative side, assume the low 600’s...

Given the above, what do you think my chances are of getting into Rotman (U of T) or Sauder (UBC) in the 3rd round?

Hi Sensei_Mike,

I'm not that familiar with the details of those schools but some quick research indicates a low-600s score should be OK for Sauder but a bit below the median for Rotman.

Round 3 is always a bit tougher but I would project you would likely be competitive for Sauder, and a bit of a reach for Rotman. A higher GMAT score, or applying in an early round next year, could help your case with the latter.
