Hi Sameer,

Thanks for writing in, and congratulations on such a great improvement on your GMAT score. While your 710 is a bit unbalanced, it should open opportunities that would have been more challenging to achieve with a 630.

To be honest, I am not very familiar with the field of marine engineering so I'm not quite sure how to evaluate your work experience. It sounds like you wore a lot of different hats in your job, so you may be able to talk about working across teams and how you developed new skills in your essays.

You should assume that the admissions officers are also not that familiar with marine engineering, so make sure to explain your background in layman's terms and clearly lay out how that experience, plus an MBA, are going to lead to a successful transition in supply chain consulting.

I like that your list cuts across a wide range of schools -- Michigan and Fuqua may be reaches but I expect you would be competitive at Fisher and Texas A&M. .

Lastly, scholarships vary by individual school and are very difficult to predict. To find out more information, I suggest calling each school's Office of Financial Aid and learning what options may be available.

Good luck!
