Profile evaluation and school suggestion

Please evaluate my brief profile below and suggest me schools for the same.

Name : Siddharth Desai
Nationality : Indian
Age: 27
GMAT : 710 (Q49 V36 IR6 AWA5.5)

-Computer engineering from Mumbai University, 2010
-Working with Major IT consultancy since then
-Total Exp : 3.8 years

Roles and Responsibilities:

-Technical leader
-Managing/recruiting associates for projects

-Leading Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, with two associates, team of 20+ members

Interests :

-Reading
-Toastmasters International member (just started 4 months back)

I am in R&D mode and haven't shortlisted any school. Can anyone please help me in shortlisting schools which I am eligible for and best for me?
Financially I am looking only at schools which can offer significant amount in scholarships and places where living expenses will not be too high.
I am planning to finance this majorly with scholarships and educational loan.

Please suggest. Let me know if any more information is required.

Hi Sid,

Thanks for posting. Overall it sounds like you have a solid profile, if a bit similar to many applicants (Indian engineering/IT applicants with similar GMAT scores and work experience), so be sure you spend some time brainstorming to think about what makes YOU different from the rest of that group!!

It does sound like you can draw from some leadership experiences, team leader roles, recruitment etc, and your CSR initiative, so be sure to highlight those.

You have not mentioned WHY you want the MBA, and that can be very important in short listing schools that will be best suited for you and your short and long term career goals, fyi!!

Re: scholarships, they are fairly rare and keep in mind most b-school students finance their education through low-interest-rate loans paid off over 5-15 years with their post-MBA salaries, fyi. Definitely need a stand-out application among the others at a given school for scholarship consideration.
