Profile Evaluation - 710

Hi,

I took my GMAT today and scored 710. I am currently working in a leading pharmaceutical consulting firm at their New Delhi office. I have about 3.5 years of work-ex till date. (1.5 years at Supply Chain Management Firm and 2 Years at my current firm)

I completed my graduation in chemical engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. My GPA is 2.96/4.0 (little low, boy I curse myself for not studying in IIT ;) ).

I am aiming for following schools -
Chicago Booth (US)
Ross (US)
Yale (US)
Indian School of Business (India)
Rotman (Canada)

What are my chances to get into the 3 US schools I mentioned in the list above??

Hi Sid,

Thanks for writing in. Strictly based on the limited information you provided I would call the 3 U.S schools in the "reach" category. A 710 is in the competitive range at those schools, but it is not strong enough on its own to counteract your GPA. Also since you will only be a few years removed from college when you apply, it's tougher to make the argument that you have radically changed since college.

I'd suggest targeting maybe one or two of those schools and focusing extensively on why those schools are good fits for you, and then adding another school or two from the next tier.
