Hi vij.vasudha,

Thanks for writing in -- that's quite a list of schools you have compiled!

It's impossible to give percentage odds of admissions, as several factors go into the admissions process, and I have very limited information about your background and goals.

If I were to divide your choices into tiers, it would be:

Reach: Wharton, LBS, Cornell, Michigan, Duke
Competitive: Texas, CMU
More competitive: Indiana

For the schools I didn't list, I don't know enough about their admissions characteristics to evaluate.

As far as a killer trait -- you want to differentiate yourself from the IT/Engineering field by stressing you have a clear reason for getting an MBA, and sharing any good examples of leadership in your essays.

Good luck with your applications,
Daniel Richards

Thanks Daniel.

I have edited the list, and would like appreciate your opinion on it.

Reach: Duke, oxford
competitive: texas, cmu
more competitive: indiana, kenan flagler, fisher(ohio), broad(michigan)

These are the schoold i have shortlisted for applying to R1. Please let me know whether i have a good chance that i'll get an admission in R1. (I have lowered my school-levels slightly this time!!)

Hi Vij,

I think that revised list looks more realistic. Good luck!
