Age: 27 (applying for fall 09)
Sex: Male
Ethnic: Asian American
Language: English and Chinese fluent, Japanese conversational
Undergrad: Purdue grad 2004/12
Major: Electrical Engineering, dual minors in Managment & Economics
GPA:3.10/4.0
Work: 3 yrs of experience as an engineering Program Manager of a fortune 600 Automotive tier-1 supplier. Main responsibilities include product development, lead cross-functional teams, working with Asian car makers in both in Asia & US.
Co-op: 1 year doing doing technical marketing in Japan
Extracurricular: numerous leadership role in cultural and business organizations during college, including club president. Volunteered to teach English while I was Japan.
Target GMAT: 740

I am close to complete the GMAT phase and will move on to application phase in the next month. My goal is to move from program management (in Midwest) to product marketing or consulting at East Coast (Boston, NY, Phily, DC, or RTP). What schools will I likely to get a shot?

Top choice: Chicago, Kellog, Fuqua, Michigan, Columbia
2nd tier/backup: open for advice.

For backups, look into Indiana (Kelley), Purdue, Georgetown.

As for the top tier, Chicago and Columbia won't be a good fit for you (the student culture there is more oriented towards Wall Street and consulting than any of the other top schools). Kellogg, Michigan, and Fuqua will actually be a good fit career-wise and should be your focus.
