Profile Eval

by Jimmy Thu Sep 11, 2008 4:03 pm

Hello....interested in a profile eval if you have the time.

High points...

6 years of solid consulting experience with Booz Allen and Accenture
GPA: 3.0 from Virginia Tech (Business & IT major)
GMAT: 660 39V, 42Q
- Running a lot of business development activities for my company. Now bringing in millions in revenue.
- Extra-circulars are week, but my work provides a lot of areas that give back to the community through my projects. I plan to plug the hole with a essay on that.

Here is the catch...I'm a consulting out of Washington DC, and plan to apply for Chicago and Kellogg part-time evening programs. If accepted, I will transfer to Chicago and attend school part-time. My theory is as a out of town consultant, I'll stick out more in the local area based evening applications these schools typically get.

I'd like to know if my theory has some merit, and I am a possibility to get into these part-time programs. Retaking the gmat is not a option, as I retook it once and crashed and burned.

I am not sure that geographic diversity will make much of a difference, but it seems that your work experience is very strong. Considering that you are applying to the part time programs, which generally are not as rigid in their requirements as full time programs, I think that you should be quite competitive. We have definitely seen candidates with sub 650 scores get into Chicago and Kellogg part-time.
