Profile Eval and Update

by north_moore Mon Jul 13, 2009 10:53 am

I took the GMAT again on Friday and improved my score from a 670 (46Q, 36V) to a 730 (47Q, 44V). I'm actually surprised at the move and would like to know if the better score is good enough to shift my expectations.

A quick background:

2.7 GPA from a top-ten liberal arts college (Graduated in '03)
5 years work experience in financial services
Strong community involvement
Sitting for Level I CFA in December

I was orginally looking at the likes of UNC and U Texas as my preferred programs for a Finance MBA, but is my GMAT move enough to reasonably consider a Wharton, Booth, or HBS? To be honest I hadn't considered them attainable before. Is there anything additionally I can do to make myself a stronger candidate?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Congrats on your higher GMAT score!

While the GMAT improves your candidacy, your chances might depend more on the strength of your work experience and community involvement. Can you provide additional details about these aspects of your profile?
