MGMAT is not a true indicator of your ability.Try the GMATPrep.

Those scores look good though.

Hi Guest,

In order to really figure out whether you are ready for your test, it would be helpful if you could describe your study progress to this date. Additionally, taking a GMATPrep exam offered by MBA.com would not hurt either. As the previous poster stated, this test is extremely useful in gauging your GMAT score on test day, and ManhattanGMAT recommends that all of its students take one of these practice tests before their real exam. Hope this helps!

thanks mike

i have dovoted past 6 months ,full time, preparing for the test,i took the complete package of manhattan books, and have completed
all manhattan material,
og 10 and 11,verbal and quant suppliment,
princeton and kaplan gmat book
kaplan 800
by giving other cat exams also i have realised that somehow i am not able to cross q 45 barrier, verbal score was higher in the last mgmat.
i thing the onlise series has helped me to deal with tough question .so my last score in q was 47,i will be giving gmatprep within few days of prep.

one thing regarding what above person told that these test are not predictive, what i think is that mgmat are only mimiking the actual gmat so obviouslly these tests may not be as predictive as gmatprep are, but as rightly said by mgmat staff that these tests have standard deviation of 50---------that apply for majority of candadates, having said that there might be afew candidates crossing the extreme of standard deviation for them they may think these tests as useless.but what i think is that if one wants to ace in any exam he should practice tough questions(obviouslly after acing with basics),because these are the one which are much anallytic based.after all its my personal opinion ,others may differ.

Yes, ours aren't as predictive as GMATPrep, since GMATPrep's obviously written by the same people who write the real thing. But ours is still pretty good. :)

You didn't mention what your goal score is. It looks like you've made good progress in your exams (though I, too, would like to see a GMATPrep score - so let us know what that is when you take it). If you want to score around what you're scoring right now, and if you also get a similar score on GMATPrep, then you're ready to go!

Well, I'd say you're in range BUT, if you were my student, I'd really want you to take a GMATPrep because that's the best indicator of your current scoring level.

I'm only on here Mondays and Wednesdays - sorry!

So, obviously your GMATPrep score is not in the range that you want to be on the official test. Your quant score is very good but the verbal score is problematic. As a result, I'd say that you probably should consider postponing your test date.

If you are continuing to struggle to improve SC on your own, it may be that you need help from an outside source. I don't like to suggest that because I have an obvious conflict of interest, but if things have not been working via self-study, you may need a new approach. If you do decide to postpont your test date, that will give you time to find an outside source for help. You'd have to decide whether to take a class or work with a private tutor. The advantage of the former is that it is less expensive; the advantage of the latter is that you can work only on the specific things that are giving you trouble. Given that your major issue seems to be just one question type (SC), you may want to consider tutoring (though this can be significantly more expensive, so you'll have to see whether you can make that work).

i gave the second gmat because i was not convinced with my performance in first prep.i noticed that, though i faced all different questions my score in verbal was 29,with 7 wrong in rc ,2 in sc.one in cr.i had taken regular course by one of the good institute, and in all the prep cats of princeton, kaplan, manhaatan gmat,my score for verbal was never below 30,is it my overall weakness in verbal which comes out in one or the other form.wellmanhattan coaching is not available here ,so i have subscribed for online package only.

only 2 wrong in SC this time, and the majority of the wrong answers in RC? that's an insane reversal.
if you've signed up for the online package, you should make sure to dedicate some time to review that's geared toward helping you develop consistency in your performances in those two areas. most likely, this will include a strong emphasis on the initial scan of a problem, helping you scan for telltale signals and giveaways as to the crux of the problem.

also, i'm surprised that you scored only 29 on the verbal after missing only ten out of 41 questions! did you miss most or all of the ten questions toward the end of the exam, or in a large chunk at some point?
