Below is my career details:

Essay : 5

10th : 90

12th : 70

Btech : 8.0

Experience : 3+ years

Company : Accenture

I am looking for universities with good placement and a bit lower Fee.
I know my score is bad, but still I am hopeful of getting admission.

Hi there,

While working with Accenture is great experience, a 560 is definitely tough.. it's more like the average of all test-takers, as opposed to the average of admitted applicants. I'd strongly suggest a re-take, since schools take the highest score and it's fairly common to take it twice... in face some admissions officers have been known to question why a given candidate did NOT try again if it seems like an obvious case where they should...

Otherwise, while there may be 1 or 2 people admitted to top schools with that score, they have exceptional profiles in all other areas and it's quite rare... for decent chances you'd be looking outside the top 50 for the most part, and could apply to a small number of reach schools just in case if you had a really strong application.

Again I suggest considering one retake unless not feasible. Good luck!

Hi Jennifer Kedrowski,

Thank you very much for your precious time and going through my profile.
But this was my second attempt.First attempt it was 470.
And i was inclined for FALL 14 season. So if I really want Fall 114 then i have to retake in between NOV-DEC of 2013.I think this might create a bad impression as colleges can see my three attempts.

I hear you, but with a 560 you'd be a reach even at schools with an average score of 600... so depends on what schools are acceptable to you.

It's still not that uncommon to take the exam 3 times, and again no matter what, schools take the highest score. The thinking is-- whatever your highest is, that's what you are capable of. SUre you can have a bad day on lower score days, but with an adaptive exam like the GMAT, you can't 'accidentally' score higher than your level so whatever is highest, is what is considered. And on many apps you self-report your main score you want reported... yes they can see on your score report later but the main focus is the score you choose, and again all schools take the highest.
