Hi,

I am Shailendra from India. I have more than 6 years of full time work exp. in IT industry. Currently, I am working as a Senior Software Engineer at an USA based MNC (leader in SCM products).

My GMAT Score: 660 (49Q, 31V).

Target schools (I was expacting atleast 700 score):

1. Chapel Hill
2. Kelley
3. Smith
4. Ross
5. Duke

Area of interest: General Management (short term), Entrepreneurship (long term).

I am mainly targeting USA schools. Please let me know which schools I can target with the current gmat score. I am also planning to retake the GMAT next month. How do schools mind retake?

Also let me know schools outside USA I can target with this score?

Looking forward to hear from you.

Thanks
Shailendra

Hi Shailendra,

Thanks for writing in. Schools traditionally only look at your highest GMAT score, so you can retake the test if you wish without worrying about negative repercussions.

From your list, a 660 will likely be a competitive score at Kelley and Smith, and should also be in the mix at Chapel Hill. Selecting the right school to apply to is about more than just picking one that fits your GMAT score; I suggest reading up on other schools that fit your post-MBA interests and seeing where you fit competitively. The Web is full of plenty of resources for this, including the MBA Mission Insider Guides. This tactic should help you identify relevant international schools as well.

Best of luck with your applications,

Daniel Richards
