please advise

I am looking at the top 20 B.Schools (H.B.S, L.B.S., Stern, Said, INSEAD to name a few). I will be taking my GMAT this year in the old format. I plan to apply in Fall '14 since scores are valid for 5 years. However, I have been told that I will be at a disadvantage to my peers since I will be judged based on the old pattern while my peers will have the new pattern. Is this true?? Please advise

Regards,

Hi! I am not sure where you are hearing such information from, but I am sure there will be plenty of applicants applying over the next five years who will submit scores that were taken under the old format. I don't see any disadvantage from taking the old test vs. the new test, and in fact, the quant and verbal sections will remain as is - there will be a new section added.

Best of luck,
