PhD Finance - Profile Evaluation

by ramsid2705 Mon Nov 07, 2011 3:00 pm

Hello,

I took my GMAT last week and made a disappointing 660. Q 48 V 33
The last try at GMAT was in 2009 640 Q 48 V 28 AWA 5

I am doing my Masters in Finance at Drexel University. I have a GPA of 3.6 out of 4.

I have an undrgrad in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from India. GPA - 7 out of 10

I am looking for a PhD in Finance.

No prior full time work experience but have been a Teaching Assistant (Physics) for a year now and have been indulging in Research, though nothing seems positive right now

Could you let me know the range of universities that I could look at?

With great difficulty I shortlisted a few. Please let me know if I stand a chance at the following places with my profile.

1. Georgia Tech
2. Emory
3. Arizona State
4. U florida
5. Wisconsin- Madison
6. U rochester - Simon

Hi Ramsid,

Unfortunately my expertise is in MBA programs so I don't know specifics about the PhD programs you list. It should be easy to find out the average scores of these programs through their admissions offices, and then -- like all good graduate school applications -- make sure your reasons for attending are clear and that your post-graduate goals are defined and link well to your previous education and experience.

Best of luck,

Daniel Richards
