p236 "some of which"

Dear Instructor,

On p236 of SC book, I have question about the 3 'Right' sentences on the top of the page. Would you please help to illustrate why only the first one 'some of which' uses the working verb 'were', while the other two right sentences are in similar structure but don't need a verb?

Hard for me to remember them.

It's like remembering them..

SANAM or Subgroup Pronouns + of + Which + were/Are etc = SWA
SANAM or Subgroup Pronouns + of + Them = ST
SANAM or Subgroup Pronouns = S

Allowed = SWA; ST; S

everything else is not allowed: Like
WSA or STWA or SW etc etc...

Just remember allowed.. hope this helps

i'm going to agree that the best way to go here is just to memorize the structures that work if they are not obvious to you..
