Online Lab# 2 - Data Sufficiency Yes No Testing

by maxinefrancis Tue Jul 14, 2009 11:43 am

Not sure if this is the correct place to post this question. In the online lab#2 - Data Sufficiency Yes/NO Three Step Testing, the last two questions appear to ask whether x or its root is a fraction. Yet, the FIZ - fraction, integer, zero - list is applied to only question #206 and not #222? Should the FIZ list be applied to both questions?

Hi Maxine,

Usually for materials related to the Online Lab or Classes, you should ask an instructor during office hours, so your question can be resolved more quickly. Let me quickly address this one. For #222, you wouldn't use FIZ because it deals with square roots, so the rephrased question would be "is x a perfect square?" In other words, knowing whether x is a fraction or integer will not help us to eliminate a statement.

Hope that helps.

Just wanted to emphasize something Ben said: you'll wait a lot longer for answers here on the forums, so if you are in an active class, you can get faster answers by (a) asking your instructor before or after class, or (b) signing up for office hours.

You can still ask about this stuff here, of course - but we don't want you to wait any longer than you have to!
