Older applicant

by samsena Sun Oct 18, 2009 8:03 pm

Hello,

I am 33 years old, with 10 years of work experience. Friends have advised me to look into an executive MBA program, instead of a full-time program, where the average age is considerably younger.

My GMAT score is a paltry 680 (V38 Q45). While I've scheduled to retake the GMATs this December, I was wondering what your opinions were on the GMAT score for a typical EMBA candidate?

Thanks in advance!

Hi -

I, too, think an EMBA (or part-time) could make sense for you given your years of experience.

Average GMAT scores for EMBAs vary depending on what program you are thinking of and for some schools it is not technically required, albeit usually strongly suggested. Your work experience tends to be what is focused on most closely.
