old version of the word translations guide--still relevant?

by wignewton Thu Jun 04, 2009 7:15 pm

Manhattan GMAT,
I have bought most of your books new, but I cannot find a new version of the Word Translations--it is on back order from Amazon 3 to 4 weeks. Congratulations, that means sales are high. There is a used bookstore near my house that has the version from 2005--is it still relevant to the current GMAT? I hope to hear from you soon, as I want to buy a book for this part. Thanks

You're talking about the 4th edition that you can't find, right? The 2005 edition is the 2nd edition, so I would go with the 2007 / 3rd edition if you can't get the 4th edition in a timely manner. The 3rd edition is almost identical, except for two things:
(1) 3rd edition uses OG11 questions; 4th edition uses OG12 (but you can get a conversion chart to show you the OG12 question numbers on our web site)
(2) 4th edition splits out the advanced material into separate chapters; the 3rd edition still contains this material but it is not split out in separate chapters

So, basically, the 2007/3rd edition's almost the same thing!
