please go back and check your work. you seem to be indicating that P(picking three women) = 3/12, which i don't think is supported by the facts in the problem. most of your confusion will probably be cleared up if you are careful to identify the value of each piece you're using to set up your equation..

I don't quite get this.

I did,

there are 5 women temp & 3 male temp so,
5C3 * 3C1

:( - help appreciated.

Read the problem again. It looks to me like there are 7 males, not 3.
