New Test Implications

by jain.sonya Sat Mar 24, 2012 1:41 pm

Hello,

I'm writing the test in beginning April right after I finish my 9 week session. I'm going to be travelling for a month and won't have time to study for the rest of April.

Should I:

(1) Write the test right before June 5 (old test format)

(2) Take my time and write it in the new format some time after June 5

Concerns:
- Will schools be biased on new scores because it is harder to compare to the old ones?
- Should I just write it both times? But then that would have been a total of 3 times. Is that considered bad? How many times can a person write the test and that school will be okay with the score?
- If I do better on the new format than the old format, will the school accept that score or will they just look at my old format score?

Hi! Only you can tell when you are ready to take the test. If you have studied for the old format, then I would suggest taking that before the test change in early June. If not, you would then need to study for the new format. You also should keep in mind that schools will allow you to report your best score - so taking it more than once (I usually say 3 is ok) is absolutely accepted.

Best of luck,
