by nishantb2 Tue Feb 26, 2013 4:55 pm

Hi,
Myself Nishant from India and I'd be glad if you can help me assess my profile and help me target a good school as well as a good score. My profile goes as follows:
Class 10 :89%
Class 12 :74%
B.Tech(Computer Science)from a state government engineering college : 70.5%
Work Exp :Worked in Dell International Services as an associate engineer from July 2011-Present(2yrs) and got promoted recently for the good performance in work.
Extra Curricular :
1. Participated and won prizes in various technical events quizzes at school and college level
2. Participated and won prizes in Volley ball at college and university level.
Now, I have recently started preparing for the GMAT and wish to know my prospects keeping this profile in mind.Kindly help me figure out the score I should aim for and the colleges that I can target so that with a good score my profile isn't a hindrance.

Hi Nishant,

Thanks for sharing your profile. Your profile as of right now is very typical of an Indian male engineer. With this in mind, you should definitely aim for a high GMAT score to help stand out from the crowd. I would try to get a 730+ if possible. I would also encourage you to try to round out your profile by taking on extracurricular and community leadership activities, and by trying to take on more responsibility (project leadership, team leadership, business goals ownership) at work.

I hope this helps,
Mili
