Need Guidance

by NarendraB Mon Mar 21, 2016 7:52 am

Hello there,

Thanks for the opportunity.

I have studied GMAT for last 3.5 months. I am an average student. I did 4 tests on MGMAT. Last test is not a good indication. I score 320, I did it late night I should have not done that  . But other three tests were complete AWA, IR, Q and V.

Here is my results:
No. Company Q V IR Score Date Remark
3 Manhattan GMAT 26 17 1 400 9/3/2016 2 days practise
4 Manhattan GMAT 35 21 0 500 13/03/2016 3 days practice
5 Kaplan GMAT 39 27 2 550-560 16/03/2016 1 day practice
6 Manhattan GMAT 35 24 2 500 18/03/2016 1 day practice
7 GMAC 31 19 5 430 21/03/2016 Still half sleep

I am thinking of doing another GMAC test tomorrow. Fresh and ready.

My actual test is on 23 march. My target score is 600-650. Shall I go ahead or postpone.

Regards,

Well, at least you learned not to take the test half asleep.

You've already had to decide by now (for future: if you are facing a last-minute decision and need more immediate advice, feel free to call our offices: 800.576.GMAT in the US and Canada, or 212.721.7400.

Your practice test scores are not in the 600 to 650 range; in general, you should expect your real test score to be in the range of your most recent practice scores.

That doesn't mean that you can't take a test, though - since you'd already paid for it and it was too late to reschedule, I would have told you to go ahead and take it just for the experience. You can always cancel the score (and schools won't know that you sat for the test and canceled it).

What did you decide to do?

FYI: all of the tests you've listed in your post were taken over a period of about 10 days or so. Scores don't change a huge amount in 10 days - and you don't get better by taking practice tests.

So don't do that again, okay? :) Study a LOT more between tests - weeks, not just a day or two.
