multiple scores

by evilprince81 Sat Sep 20, 2008 12:51 pm

I wanted to know if taking the test multiple times affectS my chances to get into a b-school. I understand that most schools take the highest score, espeically the ones i am applying to, but does taking the test multiple times hurt my chances? Don't laugh, but I have registered for the test 4 times and the details are as follows:

test 1 2006- no show( did not know that the test was non-refundable)
test 2 2007-390 Q19/V19
test 3-8/08-490 Q35/V20
test 4-9/08-480 Q30/V27

I took the Princeton Review class twice in 2007 and was very disappointed. In 1/2008 I got wind of ManhattanGmat and bought their study guides. I studied from the guides for about six months and took the test in 08/2008 and 09/2008. I clearly did not do well both times, though I saw a 100 point improvement from my previous score.

I am now taking the actual class, hoping to see a major improvement. Will taking additional tests hurt my acceptance or show persistance and commitment?

Thank you

Thank you for your inquiry.

I don’t mean to be flippant about this but you clearly have nothing to lose. With a 480 as your highest score, a significant improvement will help you, regardless of the number of tests taken. Further, your first test score was a "no show" so that should not count against you. If you think you can improve, take the test again...
