MGMAT Navigator RC -- Timing for 1st question of passage

by TheLittleEngine Tue Oct 16, 2018 11:35 am

Hello,

When filling in the question timings in MGMAT Navigator for RC questions, should I include reading time in the first question? I use a lap timer to read the RC passage and do all the questions on that passage in a single sweep such that I have reading time separated out. And then I go back and click "manual entry" to enter the timings. So, is it more useful to add reading time to the time for the first question of the passage (which makes it look like I took twice as long to do that question) or omit it? Do the MGMAT Navigator charts & analytics compensate for the extra time required for the first question of an RC passage?

Thank you!

Hi TheLittleEngine,
I am a course student of manhattanprep. I am totally out of study from last few months. I'm going to study, seriously, for taking GMAT within a couple of day. I need some motivation/suggestion from current course student from ManhattanPrep. So, Better if I can contact with you via email or any other ways. My email ID: aasad.ctg@gmail.com

Apologies for my delay in writing to you. I would suggest a couple of things:
-Reach out to your course tutor, who'll know better than me your study history and may be able to offer suggestions. If your course tutor hasn't replied to your message, send a polite reminder or contact Student Services.
-Depending on your package, you should be able to access (or reactivate for a small fee) your Atlas Center. The Interact videos are a great resource to recover the important topics, and the Official Guide problems in the homework offer a good follow up.
-Taking a practice test is a good way to restart your studying. You'll probably feel the same way that you did at the start of the course and find yourself saying things like 'I don't feel ready!', but both the experience and the data will be useful.
-Make a plan of study for yourself. The Interact lessons offer a good basic map for a few weeks of studying and keeping a log of problems you get wrong or can improve on is vital for making progress.
