Manhattan Strategy Guide book question

by GeX491 Mon Aug 19, 2019 5:30 am

P43. 1. No matter how much work it may require, getting an MBA turns out to be a wise investment for most people.
Even though it requires much work
The answer says that the revised version eliminates the word "may", so it changes the meaning. The revised sentence is incorrect.
But the two sentences below have a different meaning. Why this is ok?

4. She is the most dedicated gardener on the block, watering the more than 50 plants in her yard every day.
watering more than the 50 plants in her yard every day.

Please read the forums guidelines before posting. This question belongs in the Manhattan Prep non-CAT folder. It's from the Sentence Correction Strategy Guide 5th edition, chapter 2 problem set.

1. I agree with you. Simply a change of meaning (so long as the meaning is logical) is not enough to eliminate an answer choice on SC. We actually changed this in the latest edition of the SC Strategy Guide.

4. Did you have a question about this one?
