Hello,
I think that your GMAT score is in the range of GMAT score of admitted applicants to Rotman. I believe that the average GMAT score was around 650, but you should double check the most recent figures. If you are within range of the average score and you think that you’ve done the best that you can do, I would not retake the test, but rather focus on the other parts of the application. However, if you think that you had a bad day and can improve your score significantly without much effort, I might encourage you to retake it since a higher score can only be helpful.
In terms of Ivey or Queen’s strength in finance, I have to admit that we are less familiar with the intricacies of those Canadian business schools. I’m not sure where you are located, but if you can, my advice to you is to visit the schools or attend an information session and ask your questions about the schools’ resources in finance. You can also talk to students to get a better sense of the popular finance classes and extracurricular resources.
Sincerely,
Akiba Smith-Francis
