Low GMAT low gpa help

by Novinshafigh74 Thu Dec 27, 2012 6:34 pm

I've taken the course and hired a private tutor and still only scored a 470. I've taken the test 4 times and don't have the greatest gpa but I have at least the min. requirement. What schools work the best for me? In my statement of purposes I will obviously address the issue but is the test worth taking again? I've done better on my practice tests scored above 500 three times in a row, which is what I'm shooting for. Im just getting frustrated with the exam and just kind of loss for words right now. I live in OC, California by the way.

Hi,

Sorry to hear about the test :( I would say that if you've taken it four times and are scoring around the same each time, it's not worth continuing to retake it. I would suggest looking at local, smaller programs possibly. You can also look for programs that don't require the GMAT.

Finally, you could consider taking the GRE as an alternative. A lot of programs accept the GRE, and you might have an easier time with that test. You might be tested-out at this point, though!

Good luck!
