Hi
I'm entering 3rd year this summer, doing B Sc Animation (India).. I want to sit for GMAT this year..but recently i heard what i suppose is a big obstacle, a job experience..
I'm a average student with GPA's being 6.71/10, 7/10, 6.56/10 for the first three semesters respectively..
For the past one year I've been working with kids living and working on the streets.. I teach them and I also am responsible for website designing and lead the publication team of the NGO which is an international organization ( I lead the Delhi team).. and by the time i finish with my college I'd have nearly 2.5 years of experience working.. but all of this work will be part time.. due to college, being full time is not possible except in holidays..
Even at school level i was very much into co-curricular activities, i am a, Duke of Edinburgh sponsored (International award for young people), silver awardee..
I've represented Delhi at nationals in athletics.. but academically i was average.. ( 70% in 12th grade)..
And now I'd like to go for a MBA in the Non-profit sector..and am leaning more towards schools in Europe..
When giving GMAT I'll be looking for a score on the higher side of 650..
What i would like to know is :
* Can i do the MBA in the Non profit with the things i mentioned..??
* Will the part time experience i have count on the same level as the full time experience in this field..??
* I'm quite confused as to how GPA's are calculated in US or Europe.. Do i need to work harder in my remaining 2 semesters..??
* Will this disparity between my studies and co-curricular activities play a huge part..??
* Are there any "good" schools with MBA in Non profit in Europe..??
* Will it be possible for me to do MBA in the Human Resource programs with the things i got..??
* How many years of degree are required..?? Here in India we have 3 years but I've heard that 4 years of degree education is required abroad..
* Would being a international student further dent my possibilities..??
I really want to do this MBA straight after college as i know it wont be possible again ever for me if i miss this chance.. just looking for some glint of hope somewhere..as i have been told by nearly everyone that having a job experience and top class GPA is a must for GMAT..
tnx..
ciao.. :)
