Is appropriate to use CLIENT NAMES on the essays?

by mrbatz Sat Sep 05, 2009 2:48 pm

I'm a consultant and have worked with a lot of brand-name clients. Is it appropriate to use the company names (e.g., Ford) or just say, automobile company?

Hi, thanks for your inquiry.

It's fine to use the company name. I'd probably avoid using individuals' names though unless you have their permission.

Good luck.

Just to clarify - it is okay to use the client name? On my resume, I have the name of the consulting company I work for but not the name of my clients. Instead, I say $10B pharmaceutical, for example.

Since this is usually the protocol for a resume, wouldn't I be expected to follow this same level of confidentiality in my essays?

The schools hold all information as confidential. You can call them and ask, to be sure, but you can proceed assuming that the information will go no farther than the admissions committee.
